Thanks, Loren.
Anyone know the correct puller? I have the one for '90s era Audis.
Anyone know the correct clearance?
Have tried the jumpering, found clutch nonfunctional.
I have a good working used compressor, just trying to avoid the trouble and costs involved in switching the compressors. Anyone done this without replacing all the recommended stuff?

Of course you first want to jumper power directly to it, test
the coil, etc to make SURE that's the problem...
You SHOULD be able to. I've done it on an A5 GM compressor
but most should be similar. You'll need the correct puller and then
to install you need the clearance spec and simply tighten the nut
down until you reach the correct clearance. The hard part is finding
a new mag coil for less than the price of a rebuilt compressor!
