[Vwdiesel] Bad wheel bearing, how do you narrow it down to the wheel?

I've got the front wheel bearing replacement set so you can do it on the car.
One of the parts places had a loaner system for awhile. I'd be willing to do the same terms for anyone on the list. (I'll have to check with my friend who used that once and see what they were, but it was a fee and a good-sized returnable deposit in case something happened to the set.)
