[Vwdiesel] OT but diesel related

Makes sense in a way about the tires... if you lose traction in a curve at
the rear, you're likely to spin but if in the front, the car will 'push', or
slide toward the outside of the curve, which is better for nonexpert drivers
to recover from.
However if you're objective is to have maximum starting-out and low speed
traction... more tread on the drive (front) wheels seems better.

I always assumed that the natural handling tendencies of a front wheel drive
(to push) would tend to balance out the effect of less tread/traction in the
rear... also if you shouldn't be going that fast anyway. :)
