? The big wire is either the supply TO the panel or it's the glow plug wire.? The other red ones are likely to the
ignition and so forth.? The big one probably has a larger spade terminal than the rest.? They plug in on the
back but hard to say just where without a wiring diagram.? There are 2 or 3 groupings of single, spade?
terminals on the back of the panel for just such wires.? Get me a copy of a wiring diagram for that?year?
and I could probably say where each goes.

In this case, I have no power to the ignition, lights, etc., so some of the
wires have to go somewhere:
?
Again,? I have a really?heavy (maybe metric 6)?red wire with a red connector,
a?smaller red wire with a red connector, a heavy (maybe metric 2.5)?red/white
wire with yellow connector, a smaller red/white wire with red connector and a
fine red wire with red connector.? All the multi-wire connectors are back in
place in the panel.

You might not actually have to hook something to each of them.? In all of my
watercooled VWs, there were always a few wires from the back of the fusebox that
weren't hooked to anything.? I presume they were for unused options or setups
for other countries.? (For example, DRLs or heated seats.)? I didn't have
non-working accessories, so it wasn't like one of my things was unpluged.? And
there was no evidence of messed up harnesses either.
