Then is was a 97 for sure, I wish I would have gotten a better look at the wheels, they were really nice in way of ride profile.

'97, mid year I'm pretty sure.  We got the Passat in '96, Jetta in later 
'97 then the Beetle in '98 I believe.  Then came the automatic then 
the Beete convertible.

  It's been nice here...  Until the first day of summer, now it's mid 
60's and looks like rain on this side of WA as well.  :-P
