Actually, the "Direct" in TDI refers to the way the fuel is injected into 
the cylinder. In an older NA or TD engine, it acutally goes through a 
pre-chamber. That Prechamber is in the head, where it's in the top of the 
piston on a TDI. That's why the older diesels (like my 82 na 1.6) are 
refered to as IDI or indirect injection engines. So, putting an older TD 
pump on a TDI engine still m akes it a TDI technically. However, you don't 
have the advantages to interface or tuning as you would if the electronic 
pump were kept on the engine.

On the Quantum, did you use factory type subframe bushings, or something 
different aftermarket?
