Just bought a used IP off eBay for a reasonable price & will have it rebuilt by a party the seller recommended. He is Brian Wilson from Okla. who apparently is parting out VW diesels for a living. I told him about this discussion group &  think he will be a welcome addition. 
Thank you, Loren, for the info but I probably won't get at my Quantum for a week or more, as I have to do my income tax. Also, the cataract surgery on my left eye was successful (restored to 20) & will have my right eye done on 4/1/09. I can now drive without glasses but still need them for reading & computer!
