[Vwdiesel] AAZ Cylinder Head - New 220.00 US

Just a note, I have both AAZ longblock and and 1.9na block.  The head cast numbers are the same.

I am pretty sure they are the same.  The blocks are surely different, 1.9D and 1.9TD are stamped in the casting.

When I rebuilt the crashed head on my 1.6 TD motor 2 years ago, 7 of 8 valves were bent.  I purchased 3 new TD exhaust valves, the much more expensive ones, as 1 exhaust valve was not bent.  I got 4 new intake valve but they are cheap.  All new valve guides for $2 each and paid $100 to have the old ones removed and the new ones installes as well as having the seats ground.  All new lifters, new CAM.
By the time I was done, I was at about $450, with me doing most all of the work.

So, $450 does not sound all that bad.

I have seen $220 prices for the new raw AAZ head new on e-bay.

I was thinking the AAZ was a mkII, 1.9L diesel head for a 96' jetta is $450.
But that's just one cylinder head dealer of the many on the internet,
there's probably a local/regional shop, as cheap or cheaper.
