[Vwdiesel] MB diesel specs??

Ray: Begs a number of questions. Why couldn't she drive it? Is that still a concern?

I don't recall any really tall gears in CTDs, but you can always change both diffs or use a USG OD (works in 4WD) or GV OD (does NOT work in 4WD, but when you leave in 2WD). Hoever, each of those solutions are thousands of dollars, so the question gets to be how much mileage improvement you need or expect. Diesels don't benefit from gear changes the way gassers so because there is no throttle plate (no significant change in manifold pressure), only a bit of improvement from less pumping loss and friction. Would take years to pay back a gear change or OD unit.

If I wanted a nice girl's 4x4, no question I would put her in a Chevy 6.5TD. If you want the grunt of the CTD, she will have to tolerate the noise, high entrance, etc. of the Dodge.
