Bill
didn't they make a film about you called "The Money Pit" ;o)
Yes the crank/flywheel does turn round twice for every rotation ofthe pump
[and cam], else you'd inject on every 2 strokes.
TDC on the crank will see compression [#1 cam lobes up]/injection time, and
then alternating with cam lobes down and exhausting the fuel from the
previous cycle.
Do the following:
1) Remove cam cover.
2) Disconnect glow plug supply from #4 etc.
3) Undo nut from #1 injector.
4) Raise fuel line slightly to create a gap.Use something to wedge it up.
5) Get someone to crank for a few seconds whilst you look witgh one eye on
that fuel line gap and the other on the lobes of #1 on the cam.
6) For your car to start the plop of fuel; [that is all it will be, and not
zillions of psi :o) ] must drop out when cam lobes are pointing upwards. If
you get fuel. Stop cranking, and you should [if you were unsure about lobes
to plop position] be able to take a ratchet 19mm/3/4" and with ignition on
turn over engine and get the plop.
7) If you get the plop at the righttime then you are almost there.
8) No plop then look at allother fuel lines the sameway for sighns of fuel.
9) Plop in wrong place, ie #1 cam lobes pointing down then fuel pump is 180
degrees of FROM CAM.
Nop fuel at all and you have a duff solenoid or stuck pump vanes or blocked
fuel filter.
10) Do these things and come back and report.
11)Stop spending money uneccessarily, or I'll have to come over and rob
you... :o(
