[Vwdiesel] 5 speed linkage for 4 speed?

A local guy wants the linkage out of the junker for a 4 to 5 speed swap.
I've never swapped a 4 to 5-speed.  I am correct that I only need the
lnkage stuff/mounts between the tranny and the long shifter rod at the
bottom of the engine bay? The shift rod/mount (attached to the linkage
mount) and the long rod/stick shift and under cab stuff is the same?
