Mark Shepherd, you may have solved my problem. My question was about the function of the middle banjo above outlet & it was capped so it couldn't breath. I saved the "steel wool fuzz" that I took out of that banjo bolt, will reinstall it, but use the banjo bolt that came with the rebuilt pump instead. In fact the middle banjo bolt that came with my rebuilt IP was not capped but the OEM one on my Quantum was.  Will try what you said tomorrow.
