  REALLY easy to do even with the correct fitting pin.  The cogs 
will fall one tooth retarded more easily than on the correct one!  
I've always had to rotate the pump back about a half tooth against
the rotational spring pressure in order to get it on the correct tooth. 
Simple way to tell if that's happened is you end up with the pump 
all the way toward one end of the adjustment slots.
