easy it is to be misunderstood or misinterpreted online.
That's interesting about the 4wd - I assume they mean
Quattro/Synchro/4motion/whatever, which of course isn't available over
here. I wonder what the engineering basis is for that - operating the car
at extreme angles? Does the fuel take a more convoluted path on a 4wd?

If it's like the Passat's and A4's, it might have to do with the different
shape of the tank. Not 100% sure though. On the AWD's, the rear suspension
takes up some of the normal space for the gas tank. SO, it's shaped a bit
differently. If it's shaped in such a manner as to possibly have starvation
issues while cornering or whatnot, a "lift pump" or "Pre-pump" would
alleviate that problem.
