Just some general advice from my experience on rebuilt starters, generators & alternators. Beware of cheap rebuilds from parts houses such as Pep Boys, AutoZone, etc. Often they are poorly rebuilt or not rebuilt at all, only cleaned up if they bench test OK. Of course, the parts house will gladly exchange a defective unit for another one. However, you are out the time of R&Ring it. In any town of a reasonable size, you should have an auto electric shop that can competently your starter/ alternator, etc., often at a price cheaper than a good "rebuilt" unit. NAPA auto parts stores usually have good rebuilt units as well as parts houses that cater to the professional auto mechanics as op[posed to the parts houses that cater to the DYIers like ourselves. This is a generalization. Get to know your local parts sources.
