As many of you probably know, I am a car collector & have other cars besides VW diesels. In working on my Quantum, I suspected a bad radiator, so bought a spare radiator from our local NAPA parts house for just a little over $100.
I have owned my 1941 Ford V-8 tudor for over 20 years. It is a low mileage "survivor" with an estimated 32,000 miles on it. I am getting quotes of $500 up to recore my old radiator & quotes over $700 to replace it. There are discussion groups similar to this group such as the www.fordbarn.com & have had some offers for some good used radiators. For those of you not familiar with the old Ford flathead V-8s, the radiators have two inlets & two outlets on each radiator. I have found out the radiator that fits a 1941 Ford V-8 passenger car is year specific as truck & other year Ford passenger cars do not fit. That said, do any of you know of any reliable radiator houses that can supply a good radiator for my 1941 Ford at a reasonable price? Or possibly some of you may know of someone who has put a Chevy into his '41 Ford & has a good surplus radiator for sale. I raise this question as I am continually surprised at the wealth of knowledge you people have.
