I have noted these discussions re low oil pressure, oil pumps, spun bearings, etc. This is one reason why I believe in using synthetic oil vs. cheaper petroleum oil. I have lost a couple engines due to overheating when using Amsoil synthetic oil. The engines were ruined due to overheating but they never seized. Once this happened to my '72 Citroen D-21 wagon when it overheated & got so hot the valve springs lost their temper & the block overheated to the point where it was unusable. This also happened to my '85 Mazda 626 diesel 100 miles east of Las Vegas when the temperature gage showed it was warm but not overheating. This is why I like to add an extra water temperature gage.
