[Vwdiesel] Jetta Sportwagen rear license plate bracket issues

Hello,

I am a fairly recent owner of a 2009 Jetta Sportwagen TDI.  Fantastic  
car except the design of the rear license plate mounting bracket.

In my estimation, the design of this piece is such you can't help but  
to damage the paint and perhaps the sheet metal underneath the paint  
by simply mounting the license plate.

Any one else out there that own the Sportwagen?  I am curious as to  
what you find lurking behind your license plate bracket.
