[Vwdiesel] oil pumps. dasher vs jetta

can someone tell me about the oil pumps on the diesel dasher vs rabbit vs jetta vs passat.... the old original dasher pump pickup tube (busted engine, seized pump) is a bit "taller" than the new jetta pump i have on hand- the dasher is much much much closer to the oil pan than the new jetta (~5/8" inch). yet, everywhere online says they are the same pumps. What am i missing? How close should the pump be to the oil pan? Maybe i'm just worrying about nothing here.

here are the parts numbers i have- are they interchangeable?? the application is a dasher 1.6d (na).

original dasher: 049.115.153
NEW jetta: 026.115.153A
