Progress: Engine now starts regularly & sounds good. Diesel knocking subsides when starting knob is pushed in. Took it on a short trip this evening. Not overheating & seems to have good pep. However, intermittent blinking of oil pressure warning lite along with a buzzer sound. However, a manual oil pressure gage shows when hot, 20# idle up to 35 to 40 # when running at 30 to 55 MPH, usually when accelerating. From prior posts, I understand my oil pressure is on the low side but still acceptable. Is the oil pressure warning lite & buzzer doing its job or should it be replaced? There was also some mention of a higher pressure oil pump. Can it be replaced with the engine in the car?
