  Yes, the old pumps, if they'll work at all (from gumming, sticking, 
etc) they'll likely leak right away or at least within the time frame 
your existing pump started leaking.  :-(
  Sure, it's easy to replace a front seal, or a timing advance seals, 
not too bad to do the throttle shaft seal, but to do them all plus 
the distributor-to-body seal and any others...  That was when I 
gave up and just sent it in.  Not only do I not have time nor place 
to tear a pump down over a couple evenings and rebuild it, the 
time vs. cost factor is too close to equal for what my time ends 
up being worth lately.  5 hours would be about the cost of a 
rebuild for me plus any worn parts get replaced, ALL seals are 
done and it hopefully gets calibrated corrrectly.  Plus the "check 
valves" get done, etc, etc.  Rebuild vs reseal was about $100  
more.  Then it's good for another 300K or more without touching 
it!  :-)
