I ran an old Optima Red Top for quite a few years. This was back when there was only 1
model and no choice of what group number they were, and that one was fairly good. Had it
in my 4x4 for a few years then moved it to my VW. It worked fine there until it was down
for some transmission problems. Tried to keep the battery topped off but it must have
gone down too low a time or two and it did not revive after that. And I have heard that
since Optima and Interstate got together, the quality of the Optimas has gone down.
