[Vwdiesel] cold start shaft reseal in car Re: pump still leaks

The pump that was on my 92 Jetta Eco was a late 80's TD pump with a bad input shaft bushing.
It had this type of cold start electrical advance, but it was not hooked up.

I notice my current 1.6TD pump runs at the perfect idle speed when cold, but when the pump heats up, my idle drops a bit low and it AC is on, it is really stuggling.  I am guessing this electrical component tied into the AC Compressor turning on and would bump up the advance to get you a little better idle when the motor was under strain?  But this would only be needed at idle, not when you are going down the road?

From the pics I've seen the 'electrical component on the front' is the
electric version of a lever that would be the backside. When the there's an
electric solenoid on the front the lever port on the back is blocked off.
