[Vwdiesel] Alternator wires

   Gee that makes me think of a call I got today. A friend stared the
car and went in, got
distracted and proceeded to find the car (Jetta diesel) puking coolant;
overheated.
Last year he suspected the radiator fan wasn't coming on when it
should.  Never
checked, just suspected, so he wired in a manual switch instead of
"FIXING"
the problem. This wouldn't have happened if it'd been checked and
fixed IF
there was an issue. Sort of why I tend to believe in fixing rather
than
covering up a problem.

He has a lot of "don't fix the problem, ignore it" procedures like that
in the book...
