[Vwdiesel] 97 Golf - TD or TDI in Canada?

I own a 97 golf.
It's a 1.9 td as you suspect. I think the tdi was available the following
model year, but if memory serves, there are a couple years there when you
could get either tdi or td it's been a while.
Pat may remember this and be able to comment.
I have the ducting and intercooler from a jetta tdi to go into it- just turn
the top of the manifold 180 degrees on 2 bolts and install the rest of the
stuff.
The interior is essentially 97 passat design, but slightly different shapes,
dimensions, and built in Mexico, not Emden. The differences in fit and
finish between the 97 Passat and Golf are striking, but overall, it's a good
little car. Mine is parked right now, saving it for my 12 year old
daughter's first car. I snitched the alloy wheels from my 99 Jetta tdi
before it left, which look pretty good on it. In dark blue it dresses up
well. Where's the one you're looking at Shawn?
