[Vwdiesel] pull start tdi

I've done that with a couple different 00-01 TDIs. As long as they have good
battery power so the computer can see what's going on as soon as it sees
decent rotation it will tell the injection pump to put fuel in. (I'm not
sure if it has a lower speed cutout for how fast the motor has to turn
before trying to run. I assume so, though.) When I do it I tend to just use
whatever vehicle I have handy. As long as you let it get a little momentum
before putting it in gear it's not a lot of extra pull on the tow vehicle.
I'll generally use 2nd or 3rd gear, depending on the situation.

But it's really a piece of cake, and a wonderful way to start something that
is refusing the normal way. Even without working glow plugs or with large
air bubbles in the fuel line if you get the engine turning at 2-3000 RPM
it's going to run if things aren't completely shot with it. (Like if it's
been sitting and has drained the fuel back to the tank and you're not sure
if the glow plugs are getting good current, you can still see if it will
run, and then worry about other things later.)
