Well, you might have the oil pan but I though there are a couple other things like motor mounts and air cleaner. I don't think the speed would matter in terms of what is on the diesel right now as a north south tranny isn't the same as a east west tranny. If you get or can make the parts work the other issue that I see would be the tranny geared to the gas engine so you will have great power but not be able to get up there in speed. That is if I am thinking of it correct on engine orientations.
