[Vwdiesel] OK....Who drives around without a timing belt cover

I've run without covers on most of my engines for about 15 years. I've had a 
variety of cars, mostly VAG. If I were to have one cover, I'd rather it was 
the top one. If something gets into there from the top being open, it can 
get trapped inside the bottom cover and become an issue.
