One last thing I forgot was the valve adjustment. Basically you just take the valve cover off and get a gauge to measure the distance between the lifter and the cam. From what I understand the valves recess into the head and put pressure onto the cam and then don't fully close which would mean you need to take out shims on the cam. It doesn't need to be done very much but should be looked at. Brother has put at least 100K since getting his truck and just checked it this fall and he has yet to do it. There is a tool to do it with the cam still in the car. One thing depresses the lifter outer shell while another tool removes the puck out of the way. I found the tools and would loan out if needed to people.
