Gotcha... I'm guessing it must be direct bolt-in compatible with the 1.6?
The original Kubvans had all Rabbit components.

US, none that I could find, but in Canada, the early '90s Passat had the 1Y
engine.  That 
is what I tell the parts counter person when they ask for type of vehicle.
