[Vwdiesel] Fuel economy for a 17 tonne 8 wheeler

5-7 mpg. Maybe even 8 if it's a goverened truck with no idle time. We get 
right at 6 average in our fleet, usually running right about 60k lbs on 
them. It does depend on the engine and a few other things, though. Never 
known one that exceeds 10, though, and that was an unloaded Detroit, which 
is the best milage engine that I know of.
