[Vwdiesel] Volvo brake question

I think a temporary fix shold be fine.
I think this because, if the caliper is like the VW ones, the lower part of
the calliper hooks into the bracket, and cannot rotate about your remaining
bolt. Secondly, if the braking system is like the vw stuff, then should the
whole lot snap off and plunger pop out, the other 'duel circuit' will stop
you safely.
Not suggesting this will replace a fix naturally....

Did you hear about the chap with poor rear brakes, who eventuallly found
they had been shut off by inserting nails into the hydraulic lines, to
overcome leaking slaves IIRC.... }8~)

Hi,

My plan was to temporarily glue the lower pin on the drivers side caliper
to be able to drive it someone who could weld it. I don't intend to have my
daughter drive it at all. I just wanted to know if people thought that the
one lower pin glued in on the one side of the caliper would hold for the
distance it would take to get to someone who could weld it. I was thinking I
know some one about 10 miles away. I live in small town in the boondocks. So
do you guys think that the JB Weld would hold the pin in for that distance,
and if it failed what do you think would happen, how much more damage might
happen?

Thanks

Dave
