Well, no questions this time, only a progress report, which should be helpful to others. When I looked at the head, I didn't see how a wire into the glow plug opening would work so I looked at a used head & saw a hole in the injector opening that would work with a cote hanger wire. I had difficulty counting each gear notch on the flywheel so I loosened the camshaft gear so I could, after locking the camshaft in place, rotate the engine both clockwise & contour clockwise until the engine hit a valve & marked it on the timing belt & found about 8 inches of movement. Therefore, I figured 4 inches would probably be around TDC.I then inserted the wire into the injector hole & the wire is almost perpendicular to the piston. Upon finding TDC I found the "O" marker on the flywheel. This is as far as I got today as we are having cold rainy weather & my garage isn't heated. 
 I plan to  use a screw driver to lock the flywheel in place at TDC, then loosen the TB tensioner pulley so I can move the IP to where the locking plug will fit (it doesn't now), & then hopefully if the IP works, the Quantum will run again. I expect to get to it on Mon., if not to stormy, as Sun., I want to watch the Minn. Vikings playoff game with New Orleans. GO VIKINGS!
