Sorry to veer into the politics, but while I'm at it ,  I'm impressed with SEMA's activity and mailings.  They do a good job of informing people like us of proposals and the likes.

I've got a buddy who has a few 80's VW diesels (not running) and no pretty interior parts, that will be relocating.  As much as I expect he'll want to take them with him, I don't see it happening.  Anyone near Nashville TN that is interested in more info send something my way.

If that is set up like it is for the gas engine smog assistance, that assistance only 
applies to vehicles with nothing smog related that has been touched.  So if anything is 
modified with the emissions systems, then the owner is 100% liable for the repair to get 
it to pass.

So for someone who has never popped the hood, they get some help.  But for someone who 
works on their vehicle and might have touched anything emissions related, all bets are off.
