[Vwdiesel] finally made 50 mpg

When I had a recent reflash done by the dealer for emissions and glow plugs, I lost the inmotion tune. I just drive smartly and I always figure my actual mileage with math! total gallons used/total miles driven. I don't trust the electronic MPG measurements. When I had VWs with MFA mileage displays, they were always wrong. In fact, my former 04 Passat TDI would give reading 2-3 miles per gallon greater than you were actually getting!! Tha is why I find many of the mileage claims on the VW TDI mileage contest website suspect, they all show shots from the MFA display! Hayden

are you doing anything else besides the inmotion tuning and light footedness?

i know of several people exceeding 50MPG easily with pump timing & flash..

MFA or scanguage whatever, I prefer the old method of filling up & dividing miles traveled by gallons pumped. you might find that more correct and closer to 60 mpg..

Well for the first time since I bought my 04 two years ago (used) I
managed to get 50 mpg on the highway. No I don't mean 50 mpg on the
MFA display (which are almost always wrong and too high), I mean a
real calculated 50 mpg. Highest to this date had been 47.5. Scangauge
showed an average MPG of 49.5 so it seems to be pretty well zeroed in
now. Hayden
