[Vwdiesel] need TBC hardware...any ideas?

I don't have any, but the reason that a stack of washers hasn't been
good enough for you is probably because of the stepped shape of the
metal piece. It has a part that goes down inside the rubber grommet to
contact the head, or the bracket for the one on the front of the
engine. Then it also has a large flange to hold the rubber grommet
down against the engine. So even when you tighten the bolt down all of
that tension is not going through the rubber grommet. It doesn't get
fully compressed, but still leaves the timing belt cover with a little
bit of play.
If that wasn't clear enough of a description and no one else chimes in
I can pull one of mine off of the engine later today or tomorrow when
I have some time and take a few pictures of it. Depending on where I'm
at I might even be able to put calipers on it and give you some
measurements. It would be a very simple piece for a machine shop to
turn a few for you.
