[Vwdiesel] Coolant loose

OK< must be a bad coolant cap issue then.  I have no added oil level, if
anything, this motor burns a Qt. every 4K about, that is not bad actually.  I
run AMSOIL 20W-50 for 6K before changes but often have to add a Qt. at 4K miles.
That tends to get expensive. $$

I will fill the expansion tank back up soon after the warning light comes on
saying it is a bit low.

Biggest things with coolant loose are these. Make sure your oil level isn't
getting higher (coolant in oi-bad for bearings), Make sure the level is high
enough (bad for head if to low), and make sure you are burning it in the
cylinders to fast (hydro locking the cylinders if to much at a time). I have had
a couple cap issues myself. It is even worse going up the mountain for both the
load on the engine (added heat) and the elevation changes (change in internal
pressures vs external pressures).
