Rolf, that's awful!  If I were you, I'd keep my eyes open on the internet boards looking for all the parts you need.  All the parts you've mentioned are bolt on, and if you could find ones with the same color, you'd make it pretty easy to repair.  They only had 6 colors of '01 Golfs, so it shouldn't be too hard.  Check at VW Vortex, as lots of people part out mk4 VWs all the time.
