Yeah.....I used to have the job of arresting people that did things like that.  In fact, I'm sitting at the sewer plant right now.

    This technique will probably get one arrested today but in the late
1950's we used to clean the pump island and lube bay in the gas station I
worked at by moping the concrete with Kerosene, then spray with water and
squeegee that off. Then put down some Dries-all? ( not sure I remember the
name right but it is a burned rice hull product) then you sweep with a fine
push broom. It leaves the slabs show room clean.
