[Vwdiesel] It's running! WAS: $500 ecodiesel crank pulley?!

aaaand, it's purring like a kitten!  Thanks so much to Andrew for
hooking me up with what appears to be a NOS harmonic balancer!

And thanks to all for the hand-holding crank during crank seal
replacement.

Timing is advanced to 1.03, oooh it sounds nice.  Hoping since it's an
eco it won't get too hot there.

ALMOST has a catastrophe.  While running the engine to warm it up before
retorquing the head studs the intermediate shaft pulley unscrewed
itself.  I heard a metallic scratching sound and was wondering if the
screws I put in the harmonic balancer were too long, but no - just the
int. shaft pulley eating its way through the lower plastic timing belt
cover!
