[Vwdiesel] Brakes?

Does your vacuum pump have a spaceship on the side,[a diaphragm type] or is 
it a small felow with a pipe coming out of the top of the lid?[Vane type. 
If the latter, then check your sump oil level. This can suffer if low. 
Almost indistructible otherwise.

Older style can have a split diaphragm.

Also look for leak in pipe to booster
