Very cool, 96 and up TDI's will have the ODB II port but I am not sure if this would work on diesel engines, maybe?
That is odd that this unit is made in USA, but GOOD news.  Coming from a place like JC Whitney that is a general, "we have almost everything for every car" place these days.  Most of what they have is China stuff I would guess.

let us know how you do figuring the rest of the device out.

Subject: [Vwdiesel] Mileage meter

I recently bought a mileage meter for my Focus from JC Whitney. Cost was around $90. Installation is very simple. Just plug it into your OBD 2 port so you have to own a 1996 or later gas powered car. I don't know if 1996 & newer diesels have an OBD 2 port. Can read instant or average MPG plus OBD codes & other things I haven't explored yet. MPG appears close to the type of driving I am doing. Will report later, if you people are interested. Amazingly, the unit is built in Sunnyvale, CA (SF Bay area) & not in China!
