[Vwdiesel] *2001 Golf TDi needs ALT*

Rolf - 120 amp is spec'd for running all the electrical accessories that
typically run in winter - glow plugs, seat heaters, window defroster, blower
fan, lights, radiator fan, etc etc etc.

If you don't have or don't use all those accessories, you could probably get
by with something smaller, but of course YMMV.

I had mine replaced last year and the TDI specialist I took it to said he
only uses new Bosch alts - the additional cost is outweighed by the fact
that the alts are so damn difficult to get to.
