You don't want caulking. There's stuff called "body seam sealer" that
body shop supply houses sell. Sands like bondo when fully cured, tough
and flexible, MUCH better than caulking plus it takes paint color
correctly.
My biggest concern about simply resealing the body seams, would be
where the water is coming from and will it pool up somewhere if you
stop it from running out?
