[Vwdiesel] turbo

That varies. I think the biggest factor in this is the oil used.
I had a 1.6 turbo Jetta mk2 that was on it's original turbo when I sold it
to a friend, who sold it to a friend.
Last I saw it was at 360K miles. Guy that owned it before me was a courier
that changed oil with rotella T faithfully, I did the same, and I threatened
to never work on their cars again if The subsequent owners didn't keep that
up.
It was remarkable. Only engine repair was 2 cam followers I installed when
it was at the 360k miles, and owned by the second owner after me. I checked
the turbo then for him too, and it was still fine, within tolerance for
axial wear, but did have some blade erosion. I drove the bag off that car
too when I had it, it was turned up as far as was sane, so it sure isn't how
easy you drive it, I'm convinced it's all about what oil, and if you change
it. Oh, and no oiled cotton filters if you want to keep the turbo for a
long time.. Too much blade erosion from the particulate matter leakage.
