There are other "goos" that one can put on contacts, beside the dielectric ones.
 
WD40 is moderately good at keeping moisture and corrosion out (used to be sold as high end contact protector for stereo systems by some folks). Aluminumn wire paste is also pretty good at keeping oxidation and mositure out. Even just bearing grease will do a passable job in keeping moisture out.
 
What is best really depends upon the nature of the contacts: how much vibration, movement, and their environment.
