Loren's behavior as moderator during this entire episode has restored my
faith in humankind. He wore the hat of moderator well and graced it by
being moderate!
Under his care the forum has flourished for years, helping lots of
dieselheads all over the world every day. And those aren't just my
opinions. They are observations. This is just one more example of it. I'll
bet even the instigators of this particular overheating respect his calm
and humorous tolerance.
Everybody seems to have survived. Like the diesel engines they own and work
on, they are unusually reliable, tough, resilient and dependable (and maybe
a bit noisy with a tendency to clatter.) I enjoyed every minute of the
exchange.

I'm not really a diesel engineer or mechanic...
It's like I'm sort of a helpful friend to this peculiar little old VW.
