Hey, sounds like you may even be able to re-use the seal if you can do that.  
Nothing like staying with the factory rubber if you can.
the aftermarket stuff, well, we all know the drill.  It may fit, or it may be a 
bear to get it to fit.

Ouch.  The "correct" procedure is very close but generally no 
broken glass.  Takes a little more wear on the finger tips or use 
a flat screwdriver.  Work the inner lip of the seal loose as you 
push with your feet, gently.  Start at the top, work to one side 
and down, same with the other, repeat a couple times and it 
comes out in one piece in a few minutes.  I've pulled and reinstalled 
several pieces of glass, front, back and side, this way.
