You should have a cooler that the oil filter screws on to. You won't know if the oil is getting hot unless you have a gauge for that. The coolant will get hotter because of the oil cooler. It more or less helps equalize the temps between the two and helps warm up the oil when cold. The turbo engines have oil squirters that spray on the pistons to help cool and you have the oil going through the hot turbo to help cool it so the oil does need to be able to stay to coolant temps. I have gotten my oil up to 260. Don't know the exact coolant temps but gauge wasn't over heating. I know what overheating is from when I had a faulty radiator (no baffel to for the cooling). The cooler is really small to do a really good job of heat transfer.
