[Vwdiesel] Dayco Timing Belts... & Idler pulleys

I think the forum is split on this one.

Wrt VW mk2 idler pulleys in particular, I always check it when fiddling with 
timing etc.

If it looks old, and therefore a genuine OEM but feels same as it ever does, 
then I have every confidence that it will not fail, unless contaminated in 
the near future.

A modern replacement may or may not fail relatively quickly, and will 
condemn you to regular  R &R.
